Cameron Patrick of Little Race Cars Has Fantastic 2007 Season Across Virginia Ovals

Little Race Cars proven setups on Cameron's 34 Ford Sedan and Coupe plus Larry McBride and Curt Andrews; www.andrewsmotorsports.com, prepared engines, OleDawg2 cut tires; www.oledawgracing.com, Jeff Jordan at RPM Race Cars; www.rpmracecars.com, prepared chassis, & Mike Gwaltney at CMG Enterprises; www.cmgmotorsports.com,  chassis & suspension accessories were each essential ingredients for his success.   Running 24 races from March through September, Cameron recorded 12 wins, 5 seconds, and 2 third place finishes for the races he was able to finish - a resounding 80% Top 3 finishes for the events he raced.  He had 5 DNF's during the season with one coming while leading the race by nearly a full straight away with less than 8 laps remaining in the event and the engine blowing up with the other 4 DNF's coming from competitor spins which crashed Cameron out of the events.  Cameron easily won the Southside Speedway track championship for 2007 and won 5 races in a row at Shenandoah Speedway during the last 6 races of their season.  With plenty of momentum, he entered the October 2007 Pro Division Oval National Championship event at the Bullring in Las Vegas.  He qualified 5th for the A Main championship race & was comfortably running in 3rd place throughout the first half of the race only to have the RF brake lock up during a 'red flag' stop of the race and subsequently fighting the dragging brake for the remainder of the race which carried him back to a 16th place finish.  He was easily as fast as the race winner & in position to make the big score but ran short of racing luck with the mechanical failure.

Why Must You Cut Legends Tires??

Tire cutting is an effective means of enhancing a tire's performance capability. Tire cutting removes tread rubber and reduces tire weight by several pounds. A cut tire's tread profile will result in an increase in the width of the tire's contact patch putting more rubber on the road. The resulting shorter tread depths reduce the tire's slip angle, increases its responsiveness, and helps stabilize its cornering power by minimizing tread block squirm. Minimizing tread block squirm also reduces heat buildup and the risk of loosing grip by overheating the tread compound. In many cases, cut tires used in competition actually have a longer useful life than tires at full thread depth because the reduced leverage on the tread blocks reduces "chunking" or ripping of rubber from the tire during cornering. Little Race Cars uses the services of OleDawg2 Tire Cutting Services; www.oledawgracing.com, to provide the best tires for Legends racing and help you into victory lane. Setup Secrets Revealed

Ever wondered what the secrets are to setting up a Legends racer?    Little Race Cars setups have broken multiple track records, captured 6 track championships since 2002, two Virginia state Pro titles, & placed Top 10 at 4 Oval Nationals and qualified for 7 straight Oval National A Mains; now you can learn how we do it. LRC offers setup clinics designed to help the crew chiefs and racers learn the secrets of setting up a Legends car and tuning it.

Topics covered in the clinics are:
   - Tire Grip vs. Caster/Camber/Toe
   - Controlling Chassis & Tire Movement via Springs & Shocks
   - What is a Squared Rear End?
   - Scale Weights - How Do They Apply to Handling?
   - Full range of setup gauges demonstrated in the shop to teach their proper use on a Legends car.

Cost is $150 per student for an all day classroom/shop session; an information packed "how to" binder will be provided to each student. Group or private one-on-one sessions are available as well as clinics hosted in your shop so you do not have to travel.

Example comments after the clinics have been: "We paid $150 for the clinic but made money on the deal since we no longer need to pay someone else to setup our car!"

"Little Race Cars" Setups Set Track Records

The track record at Langley Speedway , set by Woody Howard; www.woodyhowardinc.com, of 18.085 had stood for 3 years. Stood that was until Cameron Patrick, driving a car setup by Little Race Cars, set a new track record, early in the 2003 season with a lap of 18.065. A time that put him nearly a tenth faster than his closest competitor in a field that routinely has a 2/10's second spread in the top 10. Then, just four weeks later, lightning fast Cameron struck again, lowering the track record once again, this time to 18.057 seconds. Although not improving on the track record during 2004 - 2007 seasons, Cameron has been the top qualifier at Langley Speedway approx 1/2 of the races during these seasons with a fast time of 18.111 during 2007.

Meanwhile, up the road a bit in Richmond VA, Jason Miller, running for the Little Race Cars team, turned a 15.41 lap at the 1/3 mile Southside Speedway breaking his 1 year old record of 15.51 seconds set in 2003. With qualifying no longer done at Southside starting with the 2004 season, Cameron Patrick has turned laps as fast as 15.16 seconds and 15.22 seconds captured via electronic timing during race conditions during the 2004 thru 2006 seasons.

The track record at Shenandoah Speedway, set by Craig Goess, Jr, had held solid for 2 years until Cameron Patrick broke it on August 18, 2007.  Running a quick single lap of 17.368 seconds, Cameron trimmed another .02 seconds off the old record.  The racing day finished with Cameron winning the A Main which was #3 in a row out of the eventual 5 in a row A Mains Cameron won at Shenandoah Speedway during 2007.
